Instagram is a social app that allows users to capture their life memories and share them on the go. It supports iOS, Windows Phone, and Android platforms and offers a wide range of features, including capturing photos with filters, adding captions or locations, and sharing posts on various social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Tumblr, Foursquare, and微博.
The name "Instagram" comes from the word "instamatic," which was originally used by Kodak in 1963 for its low-cost, portable camera series. This series gained popularity and continued to be produced until 1988.
Instagram offers a smooth operating flow: taking photos, applying filters (such as Lomo, Nashville, Apollo, Poprocket), adding captions, adding locations, and sharing posts on various social networks. Additionally, Instagram provides a micro-community where you can interact with other users through following, commenting, praising, etc.
However, unlike Facebook Live, Instagram live ends immediately after the video finishes. From this perspective, it doesn't inherit the genes of its parent company but rather more resembles its competitor Snapchat.
